Call For Papers – ADVIP Conference

The Association of Domestic Violence Intervention Providers (ADVIP) will hold its first international conference July 10, 2016, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, U.S.A. The conference will take place immediately preceding the International Family Violence and Child Victimization Research Conference.

We have reserved a morning session for brief clinical presentations on evidence-based domestic violence perpetrator programs around the world.  Each one will be limited to 5-10 minutes, depending on the number of presenters that are approved.  If you would like to participate, please write a short abstract (100 words or less) on your particular program or approach.  Include the following:

  1. Name of your program.
  2. Program characteristics (location, how long it has been in existence, populations served, funding sources)
  3. Philosophy – Summarize your program’s general treatment philosophy. How is it different from, or similar to, other perpetrator programs?
  4. Interventions – Describe some of your evidence-based interventions and why you think they are effective for the populations that you serve. Please cite research that would provide empirical support for your program.

To submit a proposal, please contact John Hamel, LCSW, Conference Chair, at: johnmhamel@comcast.net

Submission deadline:  April 1, 2016
